How they define the sustainability of their organization: We will reach basic sustainability when we find an audience and enough income to support a core team of three or four people who deal with the most important issues in our region and support the neediest among us. The program, open exclusively to LION Publishers members and funded by the Facebook Journalism Project, gives independent news organizations the resources they need to hire someone fully focused on revenue growth. How they define sustainability for their organization: For Green Philadelphia, sustainability is a driving force of our passion, an integral part of our business and a reflection of our values. Financially, our three-year plan aims to generate $2 million per year by year three, allowing us to maintain an editorial board of about 18 people and hire additional staff to manage membership and revenue. We believe these staff members have the depth to create influential journalism that will build reader loyalty, and the funding and readership will provide our organization with the stability needed to retain talented journalists and revenue brokers. Open Vallejo will become sustainable when we have a dedicated editorial team with several full-time reporters and a full-time editor to support and guide them.   The mission of the Informed California Foundation is to create this kind of change in communities across California. For us, success means being able to expand our reach and bring more information to immigrant communities in the Deep South.
