Maintaining Learner Engagement – At Learning Guild’s online

At Learning Guild’s online conference on measurement and evaluation, from September 30 to October 1, Jennifer Hoffmann and Charles Dye will talk about how different forms of participation can be applied and measured in a virtual classroom. Measuring student involvement in the virtual classroom begins with an overview of research on student involvement, including the structure needed to accommodate differences in student experiences due to differences in the virtual environment. It ranges from developing an understanding of what is important for student involvement to various approaches that support student participation and motivation, and then providing a set of tools to achieve and measure meaningful participation in the virtual classroom. Experts who have mastered synchronized learning, including Jennifer Hoffmann, Karen Haider, and Cindy Haggett, offer many ways to ensure students’ participation in a virtual environment. Jennifer and Charles will explore important changes that reflect participation, such as feedback from participants and building consensus in group discussions. I may know how to do this in the classroom, but measuring in a virtual environment brings a different image that goes beyond the scope of this article. Register now for this online conference and discover new strategies to improve your R&D projects! If you want to participate in this online event, but not on September 30 or October 1, register now anyway and you will have access to sessions and brochures included after the event.
