Even as the government celebrates “Thank You Teachers” and “Thank You Staff days every days every day of the year, it cannot convey the respect and admiration that governing bodies have for the staff who work so hard to inspire and nurture their extraordinary children in those early years. Since March, our parent, guardian and friend groups have been hanging posters on the doors of the school for all staff to see thank you letters and acknowledgments. Claire shares the principals’ respect and admiration for their staff and explains why a little thing like a teacher thank you card can go a long way in a tough year. All of my principals are committed to an ethic that puts the well-being of school staff and staff retention first. The staff created positive videos and online messages for families and students. “I wanted to write a card to thank you for all you did during COWID-19 and for the support you gave to the children of both schools during this time with our ministry at the Center. As a result, our governors and principals have given positive feedback and messages to the schools. We know that teaching and working in schools is not easy, and as parents, some of us in government have a new respect for teachers. Problems range from reduced workloads to student bonuses to school leadership to student welfare. With our schools closing in March and a period of uncertainty, this has become even more important. It has never been more urgent for governors to step up and express their appreciation. It has been so important to spread positive messages.
