When the Neutra Institute for Survival Through Design was

When the Neutra Institute for Survival Through Design was founded in the early 1960s, Richard Neutra believed that “his” reputation as a designer of human and climate-responsive designs would lead to funding research in neuroscience and environmental psychology on modern human housing needs. With Dion Neutra’s 2019 legacy of bonds and income from Neutra-designed buildings, the Institute will soon have modest funds of its own to support participation in meetings, grants or research fellowships and awards. We propose to do this in partnership with the research community, and by promoting and honoring excellence by practitioners in the broader field of design, including those who influence what is designed and implemented in the real world. You can also use Neutras’ preserved legacy to recognize innovative, socially and environmentally responsible, evidence-based design. Survive the climate crisis with thoughtful design that helps humanity and the planet thrive. Develop a succession plan: a range of real estate options in ongoing activities that are now part of the institute’s mission. define and explain the management of the institute and how to implement programs that serve our mission. © 2021 Neutral.
