September INSET – As in schools across the country in

As in schools across the country, in September we introduced a number of social distance measures in schools to protect human resources in the event of a positive case of OVID-19. For our administrative and support staff, we have introduced additional risk mitigation measures so that there are no hot spots in the offices where everyone has a job, and we have allocated maximum capacity for each office space. In this case, “they” share the protection measures implemented by “their” school to ensure the safety of both teaching and non-teaching staff, while ensuring that the school remains a supportive work environment for staff. We use our INSET Day in September to train and equip staff and support students who find it difficult to return to school after several months at home. We would like to thank all Shafton Outwood Academy members for bringing our young people back to school in one piece, providing them with the care and attention they needed, approaching each challenge with the creativity they needed to overcome it, and being brilliant. Bubbles” recognizes the importance of each team for the daily work of the Academy and ensures that in the case of a positive case with KOVID 19, the entire team – that is, the attendance team, the coverage team and the inclusion team – will not be compromised. This ensures that the potential is protected as these meetings usually bring together all the senior staff of the Academy. I am immensely proud of our Academy staff – and of those who work in schools across the country – for everything they do to ensure the safety of students. Our weekly training begins each week with a full staff briefing through Google Meet, where 150 colleagues are online to share key messages and best practices. The challenge for me and all the academy directors is to put the well-being of our staff first. Our employee assistance program remains available to all employees and provides advice and guidance on a wide range of topics, from personal finances to on-demand consulting. This effort to maximize office capacity meant we had to travel to many of our online meetings, such as our weekly review and management team meetings. We recently launched our own personalized spiritual well-being site for students, employees and families. This is a big change from the four-person groups that our students typically work in. So we invest time in training teachers who want to work this way. In each classroom, we have aligned students in front of the classroom to give teachers as much space as possible. Dear Ekroyd – Director Shafton Outwood Academy, a large and extensive high school in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
